Which Dental Group Practices, DSOs, And Dental Companies Made The Inc. 5000 2021 List?

The Inc. 5000 annual list of America’s fastest-growing privately held companies for 2021 has been released and there are 33 dental-related companies on the list this year. Out of those, 14 are dental care providers with a mix of DSOs, single location dental practices, and dental group practices.

Below, we included not only DSOs, single location dental practices, and dental group practices, but other dental related companies that dentists may partner with for services and/or products. (Note: Inc. 5000 no longer includes revenue information on their list.) Note: DSOs, dental group practices and dental practices are marked with an asterisk*

What is the Inc. 5000?

In 1982, Inc. introduced the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. Since then, this prestigious list of the nation’s most successful private companies has become the hallmark of entrepreneurial success and the place where future household names first make their mark. Pandora, 7 Eleven, Toys ‘R’ Us, Zipcar, Zappos.com and numerous other well-known brands have been honored by the Inc. 5000.

Today, the list is a distinguished editorial award, a celebration of innovation, a network of entrepreneurial leaders, and an effective public relations showcase. The Inc. 5000 ranks companies by overall revenue growth over a three-year period. All 5,000 honoree companies are individually profiled on Inc.com.

How are companies ranked on the 2021 Inc. 5000 list?

Companies are ranked according to the percentage growth of their annual revenue over a three-year period. To assess this, they ask for base year and recent year’s revenues. This gives a three-year growth period.

The equation for growth percentage is: [(Recent Yearly revenue – Base Year revenue) / Base Year revenue] x 100 = total growth percentage

For example, if 2017 revenue was $3 million and 2020 revenue is $15 million:

$15 million – $3 million = $12 million
12,000,000 / 3,000,000 = 4
4 x 100 = 400
Growth rate is 400 percent.
