Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics Expands to Oklahoma, Opening Two New Locations
The DSO, with more than 70 locations throughout Texas, just opened its second Oklahoma location – this one is in Moore, OK. The DSO was founded in 1967 with one office in Dallas’ Oak Cliff area. In 2018, Jefferseon Dental acquired The Smile Center, a dental support organization with six affiliated clinics throughout San Antonio. In 2017, Brentwood Associates, a consumer-focused private equity investment firm, announced it acquired Jefferson Dental Care from Black Canyon Capital. Mick McCormick, CEO, has led the DSO for nearly three years.
Endo1 Partners Introduces New Parent Company Specialty1 Partners
Endo1 Partners – an Emerging Group to Watch in 2020 – recently announced the company will evolve from a single specialty group into a family of brands that offers business and operational support services to partners across the three dental surgical specialties. Specialty1 Partners will act as the new parent organization for Endo1 Partners, along with recently launched subsidiaries OS1 Partners and Perio1 Partners. During its first two years in operation, Endo1 Partners added more than 130 specialists from approximately 90 practices to its emerging nationwide network. In just six months, OS1 Partners and Perio1 Partners combined have formed new partnerships with 40 locations—bringing the Specialty1 Partners network to a total of more than 200 specialists from over 130 practices across 21 states. The group practice expects to continue its impressive growth trajectory and exceed its annual target of partnering with more than 150 new dental surgical specialists in 2022 and beyond. Sage Dental Opens New Office
The DSO recently opened a new office in St. Cloud, Florida. Founded in 1997, Sage Dental’s name was Gentle Dental until 2015. They currently serve more than 250,000 patients in Florida and Georgia. Dental365 Expands
The growing DSO has locations throughout New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and now New England. The DSO has recently acquired Beacon Dental Health, expanding it footprint into New England. Founded by Rishi Shukla, Matthew Rhoades and Dr. Frank Schiano, Beacon Dental Health, based in Boston, Massachusetts, is a DSO supporting 14 general dental practices. The acquisition brings Dental365 to over 90 supported practices and over 1000 employees, including over 300 dentists. Dental365 has also recently opened a new office in Garden City, NJ – Dental365 – Esposito Dental. Dental365 – Esposito Dental is a de novo location. Dr. Joseph V. Esposito also serves as the official team dentist of the New York Rangers. Dental365 was on the Emerging Groups to Watch in 2017 list. Spring Dental Rebrands to Lumio Dental
Spring Dental, founded in 2014 by Dr. Creed Cardon and Mike McInelly, announced that it has rebranded to Lumio Dental. Rated as one of the fastest-growing dental groups in the nation for the last 3 years, Lumio Dental is a dental partnership organization that owns and operates more than 60 dental offices throughout Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Spring Dental has existed as both the name of the parent company as well as the name of one of the company’s 25+ regional brands. In order to have a name that encompasses all of its regional brands, the parent company has been rebranded to Lumio Dental. Spring Dental will remain as one of its regional brands. Headquartered in Tulsa, OK, Lumio Dental employs over 500 dental professionals.
Peak Dental Services Expands
Peak Dental Services was founded in 2008 by a dentist from small-town Minnesota, Dr. Douglas Peak, and his son A.J. Peak. The DSO is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado and has locations in Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington. Peak Dental Services was on the Inc. 5000 list for four years. Dr. Cedric Alvarez and the team at Enhance Dental, located in San Antonio, TX, have recently joined Peak Dental Services. They have also welcomed Dr. Ross Koeppen and the team at Dental Studio. Located in Buda, Texas, Dr. Koeppen provides dentistry for kids and adults. That brings the group to 49 locations and counting.
Pacific Smiles Group Opens Three New Locations
Known as Australia’s Local Dentist, Pacific Smiles Group has just opened offices in Hyperdome Shopping Centre Loganholme, Oakleigh Central Shopping Centre and Chullora Marketplace. They have over 100 centers located throughout New South Wales, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory and Victoria. The DSO is headquartered in Greenhills, NSW.
Daydreams Opens New, Larger Facility for Dental Surgery
Daydreams, which is an affiliate of Smile One Services, opened its doors in March of 2019 becoming West Michigan’s first dedicated center for pediatric dentistry under general anesthesia. Daydreams was created to provide a safe environment where Michigan pediatricians, dentists, and other healthcare providers could refer pediatric patients without the typical 4 to 6 month wait times. Recently, the center welcomed patients to its new home on East Beltline Avenue in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The new, larger facility offers four operating rooms to meet the growing demand for dental surgery. Smile One is a multi-specialty DSO located in West Michigan and is led by CEO, Dr. Darren Riopelle. Great Expressions Dental Centers Affiliates with Amazing Dental Group
Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) announced its affiliation with Amazing Dental Group and their four Michigan locations. Amazing Dental founders Dawsar and Nawras Najor will join GEDC’s team post-acquisition. GEDC, with dental offices in nine states, began 45 years ago.
Legacy DSO Rebrands
Most people who live in the South Shore area of Massachusetts are unaware that Abington Dental Associates in Abington, Aspire Dental Health in Weymouth, and the Freeman Dental Associates’ offices in Cohasset and Hanson work as a collective group. In January, the four practices will be unified under a new name — Beyond Dental Health. The change in their logo, color scheme, and website will be effective starting January 10th. The DSO, founded in 2018, is headquartered in Hanover, Massachusetts.
Surge’s Access Dental Acquires Dentistry Operation in New Mexico
Surge Private Equity LLC announced the acquisition of Bridget R. Burris, D.D.S., P.C., a multi-million-dollar dentistry operation in New Mexico by Dallas-based Access Dental Management LLC, its healthcare platform. The deal closed with debt financing provided by Corbel Capital Partners. The transaction marks Access Dental’s entry into the New Mexico market and constitutes the fifth add-on acquisition closed by the DSO so far in 2021. Established in 2008, Access Dental is a Texas community-driven DSO with clinics throughout the nation.
USOSM Announces Partnership with East Tennessee Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
U.S. Oral Surgery Management (USOSM) – a specialty management services company that exclusively serves oral and maxillofacial surgeons – has announced a new partnership with East Tennessee Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery P.C., the company’s third partner practice in the state. Founded in 1986, East Tennessee Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is an OMS practice with four surgeons and seven locations treating patients in Athens, Cleveland, Knoxville, Maryville, Oak Ridge and Sevierville, Tennessee. Crown Dental in Houston Joins Brident Dental
Brident Dental & Orthodontics, an affiliate of Western Dental, which provides accessible, affordable oral healthcare, announced Crown Dental and its nine offices in Texas are joining the Brident family. With the Crown Dental locations, Brident now has 33 offices in the Houston area and 89 in Texas, where the company has added 58 offices in recent years. Altogether, the Western Dental/Brident family has 352 offices in five states: California, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and Alabama, serving approximately 3 million patient visits annually. Crown Dental was founded more than a decade ago by Dr. Emily Lee, DDS, PA.
Guardian Dentistry Partners Expands into New York State
A significant milestone was marked recently as Guardian Dentistry Partners (GDP), already with partnerships in seven states, announced a new partnership with Dr. Marc Liechtung, an internationally respected dentist entrepreneur with five practices located in the New York City area. The partnership marks GDP’s first entry into “The Big Apple.” Dr. Liechtung is a renowned lecturer/author and inventor of the “Snap-On-Smile” multi-purpose restorative dentistry procedure. GDP was featured on Group Dentistry Now’s “Emerging Dental Groups to Watch in 2020” list. The growing dental group ended 2021 with monumental growth.
Dental Partnership Organization, MB2 Dental, Expands to Virginia
MB2 Dental has welcomed its first doctor partner in the state of Virginia. The DPO partnered with Dr. Jared Pell, owner of Shenandoah Family Dentistry in Winchester. The practice has 17 operatories. The city of Winchester is located in Northern Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley. MB2 Dental has nearly 400 locations across 35 states, including newly added Washington state. They recently partnered with Dr. Ryan Hanks and Dr. Cameron Stoyan of Northwest Family Dental Care in Covington, WA. The DPO’s support team is based in the DFW area with more than 150 employees. Today’s Dental Network Expands its Offering with the Addition of an Endodontic Practice to its Partnership Network
Today’s Dental Network is a multi-specialty concierge dental practice network and support organization focused on providing complete turnkey practice management outsourcing solutions to dentist specialists & surgeons across the Southwest Florida region. Dr. Kevin Krause is their CEO. The group has officially formed a partnership with Dr. Raul Ortiz and SRQ Endodontics, a leading endodontic dentistry practice in Sarasota, Florida.
Operation Dental Announces a Fourth Jacksonville Practice Acquisition
The growing group recently announced its most recent practice acquisition, Vanover Dentistry, which will soon be rebranding to Orange Park Dentistry, Located in Jacksonville, Florida. Prosthodontist specialist Dr. Rami Al Saidi (Dr. Al) will lead the team. Operation Dental is led by CEO Dr. Peter Kelly and COO Matt Robinson.
Marquee Dental Partners Launches its New Brand in Tennessee – Launches a Consumer-Facing Dental Brand in Smyrna, Tennessee
Marquee Dental Partners announces the launch of its consumer-facing dental brand, Marquee Dental. The Marquee Dental brand will be used to directly expand Marquee’s industry-leading approach into select communities. The office opened in late December 2021 in Smyrna, Tennessee; a bedroom community of Nashville, TN. Marquee Dental also launched its consumer-facing website, MyMarqueeDental.com. The site focuses on providing its users an easy and efficient way to access their dentist. The DSO, which has recently also updated its logo. The DSO, which has recently also updated its logo, is led by Fred Ward, CEO. Marquee Dental Partners now operates nearly 60 dental offices across 5 states and supports more than 100 dentists.
Gen4 Dental Partners Acquires Moberly Family Dentistry and Accelerate Dental
Gen4 Dental Partners, a DSO, recently acquired Moberly Family Dentistry, a practice in Moberly, Missouri led by Dr. Michael Berry, D.D.S. He opened Moberly Family Dentistry in 1988. Accelerate Dentistry has locations throughout Kansas and is led by Dr. Marvin Heinbach, D.D.S. Gen4 Dental Partners, led by CEO Lamonte Jensen, and CCO Dr. Mitch Ellingson, is headquartered in Tempe, AZ.
Gentle Dental Announces New Location in Woburn, MA and Rochester, NH
42 North Dental opens its newest Gentle Dental location in Woburn, MA marking the 45th Gentle Dental location in New England. Located on Main Street in Downtown Woburn, Gentle Dental Woburn is a multi-specialty dental practice seeing patients for all phases of dental care from children to adults, general dentistry to specialty care. The practice is led by Dr. Megan Swanson. 42 North has also announced Gentle Dental Rochester, NH has opened its doors. This marks the 8th Gentle Dental practice in New Hampshire and the 44th location in New England and their 106th overall supported practice. Gentle Dental has been serving patients in Massachusetts and New Hampshire for nearly 45 years.
Tend Opens Boston Location
Tend, a growing dental group headquartered in NYC and founded in 2018, has officially opened a location in Boston, MA. Tend has a total of 21 locations in Washington DC, NYC, Boston, and Atlanta. All of their locations are de novo. Their clinical advisory board includes Dr. Jonathan Levine, Dr. David Ahearn, and Dr. Joseph Errante. Dr. Marc Schlenoff is their head of clinical development.
Affordable Dentures & Implants Opens Vero Beach, FL Office
The specialty DSO was founded in 1975 in Kinston, North Carolina and is the nation’s largest network of providers concentrating on affordable tooth replacement solutions, including dentures and implants. It has served more than 7 million patients.
Imagen continues to expand in Illinois
Two new Imagen Illinois practices are opening: one in downtown Chicago led by Christina R. Kromkowski, DDS and the other in Forest City lead by Drs. Randy and Sarah Stovall. Led by CEO, Rezwan Manji, the dental partnership organization (DPO) is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. The DPO’s dentists are equity partners in their practices and the collective organization.
Elevate Dental Partners Acquires Advanced Dental Center
The emerging dental group is located in Denver, CO and was founded in 2018. Drs. Jason Van Wagenen & Ken Ence, owners of Advanced Dental Center just signed on with the growing group.
