DSO Deal Roundup December 2025

Affordable Care LLC has engaged AlixPartners as restructuring advisers as it struggles to manage debt from a $2.7 billion leveraged buyout by Harvest Partners in 2021. The company initially rebounded after Covid with improved patient volumes and pandemic relief funding, but its largely floating-rate debt became more expensive as interest rates rose. Affordable Care provides nonclinical support services to ~425 dental practices across about 40 states. Affordable Care supports its flagship dental brand: Affordable Dentures & Implants.

While its focus on tooth replacement reduces insurance reimbursement risk because most procedures are paid out of pocket, it also makes the business more vulnerable to downturns in consumer spending, as patients may delay elective dental care during economic uncertainty. Affordable Care is led by Pete Bridgman, CEO, Nate Kring, COO, Dr. Justin Moody, Chief Clinical Officer, and Todd Wyatt, CFO.

Specialty1 Partners (S1P) announced a strategic multi-specialty joint venture that expands Northeastern Endodontic Specialists into a comprehensive multi-specialty platform through its partnership with Tuscarawas Oral Surgery and Implant Center. This transaction represents an important evolution for Northeastern Endodontic Specialists, broadening its footprint beyond endodontics into oral surgery and implant care while creating a collaborative, multi-specialty care model within the marketplace. Through this partnership, Northeastern Endodontic Specialists expands into a multi-specialty organization while Tuscarawas Oral Surgery and Implant Center gains access to Specialty1 Partners’ national infrastructure, operational resources, and specialty support platform.

The growing DSO also acquired Mentor Smiles and Solon Smiles, both located in the state of Ohio.

Klausner, DMD, FACOMS, of Central Park Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Midtown Manhattan, and Josef G. Bieber, DDS, of J. Bieber Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the Greater Hudson Valley.
