Kids Care Dental names new CEO

Kids Care Dental, a dental support organization with 14 practices in Northern California, has hired Janet Widmann as the CEO.  Janet comes to Kids Care Dental with a long resume of accomplishments in the healthcare field.  Janet spent over a decade at Blue Shield of California where she held a variety of executive positions, and most recently had full P&L responsibility for the company’s $15 billion in annual revenue.  The San Francisco Business Times named Widmann one of the Bay Area’s Most Influential Women in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Kids Care Dental was founded in 2002 and currently has 14 locations in Northern California.  Headquartered in Sacramento, Kids Care is focused on pediatric dentistry including orthodontic and oral surgery for children.  With over 200 employees, Kids Care is one of the largest pediatric DSOs in the United States.

Sterling Partners, a private equity firm with offices in Baltimore, Chicago and Miami, first invested in Kids Care Dental in 2013.  Dan Hosler, Principal at Sterling Partners and board member of Kids Care Dental stated “Because the pediatric and orthodontic industry is truly non-discretionary, we believe the potential for growth here is very strong, especially given Janet’s track record of scaling businesses and managing high-performing, growth-oriented teams. Under Janet’s leadership, Kids Care will strategically expand at a rate that makes the most sense for the company and its patient base, while continuing to deliver excellent dental care to kids.”
