Press Release

Root Data, an intelligence layer for dental practices and DSOs, announced today that its platform is now open to the public after months of development and testing alongside Shared Practices Group (SPG), a multi-location dental service organization and 2026 Inc. 5000 honoree.

“We spent many months building Root alongside Shared Practices Group before deciding to launch publicly,” said Root Data co-founder Ash Ghaemi. “That gave us the opportunity to stress-test the platform inside a real, growing DSO, understand what operators actually need, and make sure we were building something that could scale with future partners.”

Root Data initially started with a simple goal: rebuild dental analytics from the ground up.

Dental organizations already generate enormous amounts of valuable data, but that information is often fragmented across practice management systems, marketing platforms, insurance workflows, reporting tools, and individual locations. Root Data brings that information together so leadership can understand what is happening across the organization, what deserves attention, and where opportunities exist to improve performance.

Since then, Root Data has expanded beyond traditional analytics into a broader intelligence platform designed to help dental organizations make better decisions faster and build toward more automated operations.

Current capabilities include:

  • Patient Journey Tracking
  • Insurance Production Analysis
  • Marketing Attribution
  • Multi-Practice Performance Monitoring
  • AI Business Intelligence and Practice Chat
  • Google Review and Reputation Tracking
  • Lead Generation and Opportunity Identification

For Shared Practices Group, one of the biggest changes was how frequently the central team engaged with performance data.

“Everyone on the central team started checking on our numbers 10x+ more frequently than before,” said Dr. Austin Davis, co-founder of Shared Practices Group. “It was like everyone was flying blind and waiting until the end of the month to see how we did. Also, we were able to actually track the KPIs that matter to us without a ton of extra junk. The right KPIs unique to our company in one place without a bunch of other unnecessary data makes it very powerful.”

Root Data’s next focus is building the infrastructure for what the company calls the self-operating dental practice.

The long-term vision is a dental organization where connected data, AI, and automated workflows handle more of the repetitive operational work that currently falls on teams. Instead of people constantly moving information between systems, pulling reports, or coordinating routine workflows, more of that work can happen in the background while exceptions reach the right person.

“The ultimate goal is to get dentists and DSO operators to a place where they can focus more on the patient experience, leadership, and growth instead of never-ending administrative work,” Ghaemi said. “Our work with SPG has laid the initial groundwork for this, and we’re now looking to partner with other DSOs and multi-practice owners that want to build the same kind of foundation.”

Root Data’s broader mission is to turn practice data into better decisions, better outcomes, and more valuable practices.
