These three medical clinics offer complementary integrative therapies based on Western medical standards of healthcare, serving patients from Southeast Asia, China and the United States. The clinics focus on immunology and oncology, pain management (acupuncture and acupressure), subfertility, geriatrics, and chronic disease management.

Healthsciences International also manages Silk Systems Pte Ltd, an enterprise, healthcare management software system.  Silk Systems is a comprehensive information system that integrates all front- and back-end activities, including patient registration, scheduling of appointments for doctors and patients, billing and insurance payments.  The software can also can be used for medical records management and inventory procurement.

Furthermore Healthsciences Intl. runs the largest employee healthcare benefits program in Southeast Asia, under its Life!Club brand. Beneficiaries can get privileges and discounts at more than 30 healthcare, wellness and lifestyle chains in Singapore. HSI manages the Life!Club program for three Singapore-listed healthcare companies.

Adding eight dental clinics and two dental equipment suppliers to New Silkroutes healthcare subsidiary gives Healthsciences new depth to their healthcare offering.  New Silkroutes will take a 70% stake in five of dental clinics for S$4.20 million. The five clinics are Crescent Dental Clinic, DentalTrendz Clinic, Trendz Dental Surgeons, L’ving Vine Dental Clinic and Dover Dental Surgery.  New Silkroutes will acquire 51% of the remaining three clinics which are Orange Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Orange Aesthetics and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, and Orange Dental Specialist.  The group will also take a 51% stake in two companies owned by Dr Wong that supply and distribute medical and dental equipment.  Dr Wong also owned and will continue to have minority ownership in the Orange clinics.

It will be interesting to see how Healthsciences integrates the 8 dental clinics into its healthcare company.  There are opportunities to use its Silk Systems enterprise software, create a self distributing model with its medical and dental equipment supplier acquisition and weave its Life!Club program into the dental clinics.
