U.S. Oral Surgery Management executives received awards:
- CFO Henry Moomaw was recently named “Outstanding CFO: Large Private Company,” by D CEO Magazine, as part of the publication’s 2024 Financial Executive Awards. The annual program recognizes the top financial leaders in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. D CEO Magazine cited several high-level achievements, when naming Moomaw “Outstanding CFO: Large Private Company.” Among them, he has overseen significant revenue growth for USOSM, year-over-year. In addition, he was instrumental in securing a $125 million credit facility for USOSM in 2022 and an additional $150 million in 2023. All of which was achieved, despite an incredibly tight credit market, increased competition, high interest rates and ever-increasing regulatory complexities.
- N. Ray Lee, DDS, of Oyster Point Oral & Facial Surgery received the Frank DiPlacido Humanitarian Service Award. The award, given by the Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (SSOMS), is not bestowed annually. It is merit-based and awarded only to SSOMS members who demonstrate “exemplary humanitarian efforts.” Dr. Lee is one of only seven people to receive the award, since its establishment in 2008. The last award was bestowed in 2022. In addition to caring for his patients at Oyster Point Oral & Facial Surgery, Dr. Lee is the founder and board chairman of Operation Restore Oral Health, a nonprofit organization that provides pro bono dental and oral surgery services not covered by the VA to honorably discharged U.S. veterans. In addition to providing dental and oral surgery services to U.S. veterans, Operation Restore Oral Health provides wisdom teeth extractions to children of U.S. Special Forces soldiers who were killed in the line of duty.
Dental City announced Jordan Lorenz as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Dental City. In this role, Jordan will be responsible for leading the company’s sales and marketing teams, developing and executing short- and long-term strategic vision, and driving revenue growth in the rapidly evolving dental distribution environment. Jordan brings years of experience in sales and marketing. Most recently he was Director of Special Markets and Data Analytics at Dental City, where he successfully launched the Special Markets department, grew and mentored the team. Dental City is a dental distribution and supply chain management company for over 18,000 practices across the country.
Marie Sanders PhD became Director of Hygiene at Smile Design Dentistry. Marie joins Smile Design Dentistry with over 25 years of comprehensive healthcare experience. She has served the profession of dentistry through community, hospital, private, independent hygiene and DSO practice models. Marie is passionate about systemic health and how the condition of our oral cavity directly affects the health of our body. Marie practices clinically through local, state and international dental missions, like Florida Mission of Mercy, Veterans Stand Down and Jardin de Gracia children’s mission in El Socorro, Honduras. Founded in 2004, Smile Design Dentistry has grown to over 50 Family and Cosmetic Dentistry practices across West and Central Florida.
Shinto Chakuncal joined Affordable Care as their VP of Operations. Before this career move, Shinto was COO at myOrthos. He has also held executive levels positions at Visionworks of America. Founded in 1975, Affordable Care, LLC is focused on tooth replacement solutions, serving affiliated dentists at ~425 practices in 42 states. Each practice has an on-site dental laboratory, allowing the practice to provide same day dental services.
HealthEdge Investment Partners, LLC, in partnership with P3 Oral Surgery, and its founders Drs. Jack Krajekian and John Brock announced the appointment of Tim North as P3’s new Chief Executive Officer. Tim North has been a C-suite leader in the Dental Support Organization (“DSO”) industry for over a decade, having served as Chief Executive Officer and SVP of Operations of multiple DSOs during that time. Most recently Mr. North was CEO of Simply Beautiful Smiles, a multi-specialty group that grew to 41 affiliated offices across five states.
Simultaneously, P3 has appointed Dr. Jack Krajekian, P3’s original CEO and Co-Founder, as Vice-Chairman of the Board and Dr. John Brock, Co-founder as a Board Director. In these roles, Drs. Krajekian and Brock will retain clinical leadership and remain instrumental in crafting the long-term vision and growth strategy of P3.
Based in Charleston, WV, P3 is a portfolio company of HealthEdge Investment Fund IV, L.P., and operates as an oral surgery service organization (OSO) in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Dr. David Geiger has been appointed as the new Chief-of-Staff at Ladd Dental Group, Inc. Dr. Geiger has been an integral part of the LADD Dental Group for the past five years. Ladd Dental Group provides a wide range of dental services, including an in-house oral surgeon and prosthodontist. Ladd is headquartered in Kokomo Indiana. It started in 1978 and now has eight general dentistry practices located throughout Central Indiana.
Alexa Maddox joins Gen4 Dental Partners as their new Director of Scheduling Improvements. She has also held various market operations positions at DentalOne Partners. Gen4 is headquartered in Tempe, AZ and was founded in 2021.
Shane McCarthy joined InterDent Service Corporation as their COO. He most recently held the position of Division President for ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers. He also served as their VP of Business Developemnt and COO. Prior to that he was a Regional Manager at PDS and Nobel Biocare.
apZme welcomed Eileen Day as its new Chief Marketing Officer. apZme is a Dental Sleep Organization (DSO) and Management Services Organization (MSO) dedicated to supporting sleep apnea and dental sleep medicine practicesIn her role as Chief Marketing Officer, Eileen will oversee all aspects of apZme’s marketing strategy, brand development, and business expansion initiatives, including digital marketing and customer acquisition. Prior to going the DSO, Eileen was VP of Business Development at DMscore.
April Sharry promoted at Dental Depot to VP of Marketing. Prior to her promotion, April was their Director of Provider Recruitment and Employer Branding where she led the strategic and operational aspects of attracting, hiring, and retaining general dentists and dental hygienists for over 30 locations across four states. Before that she was their Director of Marketing. Dental Depot is family owned. The practices are modeled after a 19th century train station.
Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry promoted Jason Niebauer to Director of Operations. Prior to this promotion, Jason was a regional manager. He has also held supply chain and regional management positions at MyEyeDr. and Eye Care Associates. Riccobene has over 70 locations across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. They are headquartered in Cary, NC and were founded in 2000.
Seva Dental Team welcomed Heather McGuire, RDH as their new Director of Hygiene Development. Heather most recently held the position of Sr. Hygiene Consultant at Elite Dental Partners. Seva Dental Team LLC is an emerging dental group headquartered in southeastern Michigan.
Mike Stankiewicz was promoted to Director, Finance & Strategy at Imagen Dental Partners. Prior to this promotion, Mike held various corporate development positions at Imagen. Imagen is a Dental Partnership Organization (DPO) based in Scottsdale, AZ.
Endodontic Practice Partners (EPP), a Nashville-based specialty partnership organization exclusively focused on supporting endodontics, announced the appointment of Dr. Phil Wenk to its board of directors. Dr. Wenk recently retired as the chief executive officer of Delta Dental of Tennessee. He joined Delta Dental in 1997 after practicing dentistry for 20 years and led as President and CEO from 2000 through 2023.
Patrick Perodin joined The Smilist Management as their COO. Prior to joining the DSO, Patrick was President and COO at Marquee Dental Partners. He has also served as a Regional Partner for Pacific Dental Services and Director of Consulting at Quantum Leap Success in Dentistry.
Jennifer van Rensburg became the new Director of Talent Acquisition at DECA Dental. She has also held talent acquisition management roles at Core-Mark International. DECA Dental Group is a Dallas-based, clinician founded and clinician led, dental service organization that has been delivering high-quality dental care to patients since 2008. DECA is actively expanding its footprint coast-to-coast under the brand Ideal Dental.
Dr. Mimi Whittemore, Chief Clinical Operations Officer of Willamette Dental, has earned the distinction of being a 2024 Employee Voice Award Outstanding Manager for her tireless commitment to excellence and employee engagement. Headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, Willamette Dental Group has been providing dentistry for more than 50 years. They operate 47 dental office locations throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho and serve more than 440,000 members.
Cissy Mangrum was promoted to Sr. VP of Revenue Cycle Management at Specialty Dental Brands. Prior to this promotion, Cissy was VP of Revenue Cyle. She is also Founder and Principle Consultant at Revitalize Healthcare Solutions located in Nashville, TN. She has help RCM positions at Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance and Capella Healthcare.
