Kimberly Hodgson has been appointed director of operations at newly formed Barbaro Dental Group
Beginning her dental career at InterDent Service Corporation in 2012, Kimberly was a practice manager and field marketing specialist. She then worked at Pediatric Dental Brands as a regional operations managing five pediatric dental practices. Prior to her latest appointment, she served as regional director of operations for a year at Signature Dental Partners. The newly formed group is privately held and based in Garner, North Carolina. They currently have five non-branded practices in North Carolina.
Amy Guajardo is promoted to mergers and acquisitions integration specialist at American Dental Partners
Starting her career in dentistry as an office manager, Amy then transitioned to the clinical side of dentistry as a dental assistant instructor. In 2011 she joined ADPI as a practice manager, then was promoted to a national training specialist. During her time as a trainer she implemented THRIVE, which focuses on metrics-driven process improvement across ADPI affiliates. In her newest role with ADPI, she is responsible for managing the initiatives and related business elements in multiple merger and acquisition projects across national regional geographies, planning and managing all aspects of the project portfolio, forming and leading cross-functional teams to create detailed project plans, and ensuring the needs of both the team members and business are met through the entire integration of acquired dental practices into our group of practices.
Julie Gaffney is promoted to director, dental hygiene programs – digital and ortho integration at dentalcorp
Julie has spent the past two years working as a practice consultant and manager of dental hygiene programs at dentalcorp. Dentalcorp has 460 practice, 7,700 team members and serves 4.1M patients across Canada annual. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, the DSO welcomed 56 partners and 52 practices in 2020 and had $1.1B revenue in 2020. Prior to joining dentalcorp, Julie was a speaker and faculty member at Align Technology. She began her dental career as a dental hygienist.
Steve Bilt, CEO & President, Smile Brands Inc., named one of the best CEOs in 2020
Career website Comparably just released its fourth annual ranking of companies with the best CEOs. To do this, Comparably anonymously asked employees across 60,000 US companies to rate their CEO from December 1, 2019 to December 1, 2020. Smile Brands’ CEO, Steve Bilt, had 193 employee ratings and a score of 95/100, placing him in the top 5% of companies in the United States with 1,001-5,000 employees. Operating in 17 states with 425 offices and 50 affiliated brands, Smile Brands Inc. is headquartered in Irvine, CA.
Kevin Kelly is promoted to VP of business development & talent recruitment at Bela Family Dentistry
A graduate of Clemson University, Kevin began his dental career as a territory manager at Pittman Dental Laboratory and later joined Bela Family Dentistry as their director of business development. Bela Family Dentistry which made the Inc. 5000 annual list of America’s fastest-growing privately held companies for 2020, is located in Chapin, South Carolina and is led by Dr. Matthew Cook. Founded in 2015, the group has eight locations in South Carolina and one in Augusta, Georgia. The group prides themselves on offering a ‘Ritz Carlton’ experience every visit and at every location. Never leaving patients unattended, patients are introduced to a new member of their team at each phase of the visit.
