Walmart Health Plans to Double Their Footprint in 2024

Walmart Health currently has locations in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, and Texas. The mega store has plans to grow in Florida with 16 new health centers opening in 2023.  Additionally, in 2024, Walmart Health will be opening 32 new Walmart Health center locations. This will expand Walmart Health’s footprint into three new states – Missouri, Oklahoma and Arizona – and deepen their presence in Texas.

With this growth in 2024, they will nearly double their current footprint. By the end of 2024, they’ll have more than 75 Walmart Health centers across the United States.

The growth locations for Walmart Health in 2024 include:

  • 10 locations in Dallas metro area
  • 8 locations in Houston metro area
  • 6 locations in Phoenix metro area
  • 4 locations in Kansas City, MO, metro area
  • 4 locations in Oklahoma City-area.

The state-of-the-art facilities will be approximately 5,750 sq ft, located beside Walmart Supercenters, and will feature Walmart Health’s full suite of health services. These services may vary by location, but include primary care, labs, X-ray and EKG, behavioral health, dental, hearing, select specialty services, community health and telehealth.

These Walmart Health centers will offer care seven days a week with convenient weekend and evening hours as well as telehealth options on Sundays:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday telehealth: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Victoria Yu, DDS, recently named Chief Dental Officer at Walmart Health.

Walmart Health’s dental division was formerly led by Dr. Roshan Parikh and is now led by Victoria Yu, DDS.

With 90% of the U.S. population located within 10 miles of a Walmart, Walmart Health is in a unique position to provide health and wellness services where people already live and shop.

Spending $632 million with Oklahoma suppliers in FY23 and supporting 23,088 Oklahoma supplier jobs, the mega store supports local businesses. Oklahoma ranks 43rd in the nation for number of physicians per capita. Walmart Health centers are staffed with qualified doctors, dentists, behavioral health specialists, community health workers and more, with an unwavering commitment to addressing a patient’s whole health needs. Walmart Health has begun hiring for select positions including primary care physicians and dentists.
