Finding Success in Your First Year as a Newly Supported Dentist

From July 26th – 28th, Heartland Dental welcomed 166 newly supported dentists representing 44 dental schools from around the country, to the company’s home office in Effingham, Illinois, for the 2017 Dr. LEADS course. This event was a great opportunity for these supported dentists to meet and network with one another, as well as visit the Heartland Dental home office and meet the individuals who will support them and their teams going forward. In addition, the event featured a doctor panel with supported dentists from last year’s Dr. LEADS, who gave this year’s group beneficial advice on finding success in their first year as a newly supported dentist.

Each year Dr. LEADS offers supported dentists three days of valuable learning experiences in a wide variety of clinical and leadership topics. This year’s lineup of speakers included Dr. Mark Hodge, a nationally recognized speaker on topics including Invisalign, patient communication and team engagement. Attendees also learned from international speaker and author on micro-endodontics and endodontic technology, Dr. George Bruder. Featured speakers also included Dr. Rick Workman, founder and executive chairman, Patrick Bauer, president and CEO, and other Heartland Dental leaders. Align Technology CEO, Joe Hogan, also attended and presented.

“I was very impressed by my recent visit with our partner Heartland Dental and appreciated the opportunity to learn more about their industry leading organization,” said Mr. Hogan. “It is clear to me from my interaction with many of their leaders, that their commitment to education and providing programs and tools necessary to develop both clinical expertise and practice growth will enable Heartland Dental supported dentists to be at the top of their game.”

“Each year, we raise the bar for Dr. LEADS in regards to the value we’re able to provide these attending dentists,” said Dr. Workman. “In our modern industry, young dentists are facing challenges like never before. It’s important we do everything we can to give them an edge starting out, both as clinicians and leaders. This event is a prime example of our commitment to providing that support.”
